About this talk

We can't talk #DEI and #humanizetheworkplace if we are not creating equitable workplaces when it comes to mental health and wellbeing.

Many organisations have implemented employee wellness initiatives to help employees implement self-care routines, and to find a balance between home responsibilities and work deliverables. But, one topic that is not being covered accurately under the employee wellness banner is gender-based violence and harassment (GBVH). Are your policies and protocols updated to reflect the home as the new workplace? You may be non-compliant and find yourself in hot water.

Session Takeaways

GBVH happens in our homes, communities and businesses, we can't ignore it anymore. GBVH is a global pandemic just like COVID and we need to globally collaborate to beat it. GBVH is more than just a male/female gender issue. | Businesses have a responsibility to keep their employees safe.

Facts Related To This Presentation

GBVH costs South Africa R28.4bn-R42.4bn pa (0.9%-1.3% of GDP pa) which is in line with global standards. 1 in 9 men | 1 in 4 women report a sexual offence. | Over 146 sexual offences are committed daily.
